A little thrifting never hurt....

right? I know I promised holiday photo's, and they are coming, it's just taking me a while to sort through them all right now with everything happening all at once. The Australian school year started back this week (our daughter is in 10th grade), dancing (5 times a week) has started as well for our Princess, and we have a math tutor and a science tutor coming once a week each as well, so things are a little chaotic at the moment. Today I had to run around buying a few new pairs of dance shoes for Princess, so while I was out and about I decided to stop by a few of my favourite thrift stores to see what treasures were awaiting me, and I scored big time I think! A little thrifting never hurts does it?! lol I will have some holiday photo's up soon for you, I'm going to try to put them in a slide show to make it easier for you to sit through, but I have to work out how to do that first! lol Anyway, here are some of my newly thrifted beauties for you to see......

I am totally in love with this little pitcher and saucer! There was nothing wrong with it that a little run through the dish washer didn't fix. Not bad for $3!

I can't fit many things on my bedside table, but I made room for the pitcher! lol

This beautiful cup was hand painted by a lady that lived in Castle Hill, NSW (it says on the bottom of the cup). Why would anyone want to give this away?? Naturally I pounced on it and was more than happy to pay the .50 cents they were asking!

I love this beautiful clock and 3D picture too. Actually it's not a picture, it's real little furniture in a shadow box with a clock that's glass enclosed in a lovely frame. I couldn't believe they only wanted $2 for it when it works perfectly and in my opinion, is just so pretty!

I am assuming that this is a vase. I will be using it as a vase! I thought it just went perfectly with our new bedroom and it only cost $1.

In this photo you can see how well the new vase goes so well with a plate I found last year. Both of these are on the table at the foot of our bed.

I found one of these exact same pitchers last year and have that one in our bedroom full of lavender, so this one I've put on the coffee table with some flowers my Aunt gave me the other day. This pitcher cost $2 too.

I thought this little lidded dish was very sweet, so I have decided to fill it with sweets and leave it on the coffee table as well. Not bad for $1.50!

These next two tiny plates were actually found in a thrift store up at the Whitsundays while we were on holiday (yes I dragged my family thrifting while we were away too! lol). They are obviously part of a set of 4, but they only had these 2. They are hand painted and from Finland. They are called Old Time Autumn....

and Old Time Winter. I think they are just beautiful and intend to display them on a couple of little plate stands when I can remember to buy them! If any one out there knows anything about these plates, or knows where I could buy the summer and spring editions, then I would love to hear from you. Aren't they just dreamy? Great buy for $1 each!

These next 2 bags weren't thrifted. I got these while we were away. On the way home we called into a town called Rockhampton to visit family there. I really wanted to go to a store that advertises in my favourite magazine, so we called into this store to see what they had. OH MY GOODNESS, I had to control myself in there (well only because I had my husband with me! lol) I bought quite a few things (including something for you in a future give away!), and this handbag was one of the things I came home with. I loved it as soon as I saw it and then when the owner told me it was on sale for $15.............

Then I found this lovely linen laundry bag and knew it would match our bedroom perfectly. Another nice surprise was when the owner told me that it was 50% off and marked down to $20!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my lovely little treasures too, and that you all are having a really wonderful week. I have a roast in the oven for dinner that's just about done, so I had better go and prepare to feed my precious family now. See you soon!........Love Amanda xxx
