Firstly though we have to drive through the country....
and into the NSW hinterland.......
amongst the lush rolling hills.....
before reaching our first destination, the Byron Bay Lighthouse.
This lighthouse was built in 1901, and is the most easterly point on the Australian coast line.....
after a long walk up the steep driveway, then down a million steps (at least!).....
the view....
was absolutely....
breathtaking....and well worth the walk......
naturally it was really windy up there, but such a beautiful spot....
and very interesting too, especially for someone like me who has a thing about lighthouses.....
we weren't able to walk into the lighthouse, just around the outside, but that's ok because it was just so peaceful and serene up there.....
from our vantage point we saw a group/pod/family of Dolphins diving in and out of the water, frollicing and playing. I took a video of it for you which I'll show you next post. Today though we'll just admire the views......
and stand in awe of what nature has to offer......
and her mighty power.....
her beauty....
her serenity.......
feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, we walked back to the lighthouse.....
and into the Lighthouse Keepers quarters. The house is not used as a residence anymore, and most of the rooms are empty except for one containing a small gift store. I took this photo to show you what it would have looked like in it's heyday....
Leaving the Lighthouse Keepers living quarters and the lighthouse......
Then we made our way down the hill and into the township of Byron Bay where we stopped for lunch, which I'll share with you in part 2 of this post. For now though I'll leave you to enjoy these photo's, and wish you all a really lovely day!
Tonight we have our 3rd puppy pre-school class. Here's LuLu trying to remember what she had to do for homework........ha, yeah right! lol Wish us luck.........
Love Amanda & LuLu La Rue xxx

I have always been fascinated by lighthouses and have visited a few. It is exhilarating to stand up high like that and look out over the vast blue horizon...! Very special.

How did puppy pre school go?
(and if you get a chance to sneak the answers to my questions on the Brisbane trip post into a post or an e mail ... I'd just love to know the answers. Only if you get a moment and it isn't an imposition.)
