the holidays.....

Good morning ladies! How is everyone? I trust that you're all having a lovely week so far, enjoying your summer break and looking forward to your 4th of July celebrations! Our school holiday break (3 weeks for us) is going so fast. First on Sunday our Princess had a dance competition to attend. She had to compete in a Jazz dance comp, then a Hip Hop comp. Princess did really well and won a ribbon for Highly Commended! Were we so happy! Congratulations Princess, we think you're a STAR!

Then on Monday my mum had a doctor's appointment in the city, so Princess and I drove her in.......

once we finally battled the traffic and got into town, we stopped to have a nice hot cuppa and some morning tea before heading into the Doc's office.....

walking down to the Doc's office........

I took a couple of photo's.....

to show you....

it was so cold in the city, especially up on The Terrace, the wind seems to blow like a gale! Princess had the right idea though and was rugged up in her beautiful woollen coat......

luckily we were the only patients sitting in the waiting room, so we were able to spread out and make ourselves comfy. My mum chatted away on her phone as usual, I roamed around......

taking photo's.....

while Princess flipped through magazines.....

and watched the tv.....

finally it was time to get blown back up the footpath and back to the car.....

on this cold wintry day in Brisbane city...bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it was cold (to us)!

On Tuesday night LuLu went to her 2nd puppy pre-school class, and she actually was brave enough to mingle a little with the others in her class. That was until 4 of the big boys baled her up in the corner for a little sniff.....but she out smarted them and ran out from under their tall gangly legs. It was so funny cause they didn't know where she went! lol Aren't puppies just hilarious to watch?!

Yesterday Princess went to do a one day photographic course with some other kids her age. She said they all had a great time, and that the Photographic artist that taught them for the day told her that she had a real talent for taking photo's and was very artistic. Good for her!

So now today we're home. My car is in at the mechanics having a service, so I thought this was a good chance to catch up with you all, get laundry done and bake something delicious for my family! I hope you're having a great day, and that you have enjoyed the very quick tour of a little part of Brisbane.

See you soon..............love Amanda xxx

I loved the tour of Brisbane, Amanda! It sounds like you all had a great day!

I am enjoying your updates of Lulu's schooling. Fun! When oldest daughter had her Labrador mix in school, they were given assignments to practice, at home. Miss Maggie Mae ate her own homework. We thought that was so funny. You know, the old story about the dog eating someone's homework.

Good for LuLu, gotta stay one step ahead of them boys! The light there where you live is so amazing! It's completely different than here in Washington State, it's so warm and bright and LOVELEIGH!

Hugs to you,
Sares

I really enjoyed the tour..your little daughter might just take up photography for a hobby. I would if I could afford a good camera.
I was never interested at all until I started blogging..:O)

How do you keep your music going when it changes from your blog page to the comment page? Mine clicks off...but I would love for it to continue as people commented.
Bye for now...

Hi sweetie!! Gosh, it's hard for me to imagine cold weather anywhere right now. It's so hot and humid here in San Antonio!! I went to pick up by birthday cake this morning at the bakery and as soon as I walked out the door, my skin was damp and my sunglasses steamed up! Ugh..lol!! We're going to go downtown tonight to eat dinner at La Margarita Market Place and oh my goodness...it's packed down there!! I should have picked a different place! No Riverwalk ride on the barges or going up to the Tower of the Americas for us...to HOT!!!

I should be doing laundry too but hey, it's my birthday and I'm sitting here eating pink cupcakes and watching Pillow Talk with Doris Day!!

Have a great day luv!

Wow! Brisbane looks SO pretty. You all pronounce Brisbane "BrIzbn", right? Not "BrizbAne" ...? And I was looking at the map of Australia, Queensland, and Brisbane ... and Queensland seems quite far from Brisbane. Is it? Do you have to drive for two or three hours to get there? Is that the nearest city for grocery shopping and what not? Is Queensland a large city too? Must one drive to Brisbane for medical attention because it is the closest medical attention available? Or is that just where one might find a specialist?

So curious, me. And I loved all of your photos!!! I so love my visits to your blog. It's all about the eye candy and the interesting posts, here at Jacaranda cottage. :)

p.s. If you get a moment, I would love for you to swing by my blog and see the little video I added of my little guy at the beach. Little here actually means a very well insulated 5 year old sitting in the waves a little farther up the shore because the life guard forbad him from going in deeper since he was being dragged out by the waves. A good choice, but it broke Tristan's heart to not be right out there in the waves. I was happy that he enjoyed sitting very much as well. (He can't swim yet.)
