Anyway I am glad to be home with the a/c turned on high, and now that the house has cooled down enough to cook dinner, I have put some lovely Christmas music on and turned the lights of the Christmas tree on too. It may be a tropical heatwave outside the door of Jacaranda Cottage, but inside it's a cool winter wonderland! Since today was so hectic I thought I would made a quick and easy dinner. Spaghetti Bolognese is a family favourite here because it's delicious, and definitely quick & easy! I know everyone has their own recipe for making the perfect Spaghetti dish, so I thought I would share mine with you for today's post. I would love to hear how you make yours too as I am always looking to improve, and for variety too!
I like to use 2 bottles of Dolmio spaghetti sauce, Worchestershire sauce, sugar (in santa sugar bowl!), salt & pepper, garlic & onions.
The smell of onions and garlic cooking in olive oil is one of my favourite cooking smells!
After I've cooked the onion and garlic and added the mince to cook, I pour in about 1/3 cup of Worchestershire sauce (because I like a little heat) and add the salt & pepper...
Then I add the 2 bottles of Dolmio spaghetti sauce, and sprinkle a dessert spoon of sugar over the top...
While the meat is simmering in the spaghetti sauce I get the pasta out and start preparing that......
and get the cheese ready. Sometimes I use parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top before serving, but if I don't have any of that left, I just grate some regular cheese. Any cheese is good cheese in our house! lol
Not long now! Just a few more minutes and the pasta will be al dente....
All ready! Quick, simple, and delicious. Now it's time to curl up on the couch with a bowl of spaghetti and watch a family Christmas movie.......enjoy!
Love Amanda xxx

Sounds and looks so good! I love to make spaghetti. Mine is very similar only I don't put in sugar and instead of the W. sauce I put in a little chili powder. I like to put cheddar cheese and parmasan on mine, too.
ummm, this sounds a lot like mine, Amanda. Like Susan, I've not used sugar but it sounds great...i'll sure give it a try.
Have a cooler day today and enjoy your air conditioner. Brrr, it's around 35 here this morning and I am fixing to build up a nice, roaring fire in the wood burning stove.....
love, bj
