It's not goodbye....

forever, just for a few weeks. It's summer school holidays over here still, so I am going to take some time off from blogging to rest and enjoy my family. Christmas was a really hard and sad time for us all with our darling little Paris Fifi being ill, and then the devastation of her passing. I would like to thank all of you who have come to visit me here at my little Jacaranda Cottage, and especially to thank you for your comments to offer comfort to our family with the loss of our girl, Paris.

I wish for you all a truly wonderful New Year and hope that is a safe, happy and healthy 2009 for us all. The Australian school year begins again the day after Australia Day, which we celebrate on Jan 26th, so I'll be back to blogging at the end of Jan. I hope you'll come back to visit with me then so that I can share our Summer adventures with you all. Happy 2009 dear friends!

Lots of love............Amanda xxx

Paris Fifi!??!?!?!? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Oh man I LOVED Paris Fifi! She was so adorable and had so much personality! It just showed through in all of her photographs.

Oh Amanda I am so sorry!!!!! I should have been here visiting your blog ... here to support you when you lost her!!!

Please accept my belated condolences on your loss. Paris was truly unique and loved by your blog visitors, I just know it, far and wide, as she was by you. On the bright side, she seems not to have suffered. And years and years of loving and fun were packed into the three years she was with you. No doubt she has some GREAT stories that she's telling the other dogs in heaven right now about the time she ... and the time you "... and comfort?! You think YOU had it good? You should have seen the set up *I* had! Oh baby!" She'll win the contest for "most loved pet" hands down each evening as they relax around their buffet swapping stories, getting brushed by angels that carry little photo albums of you and your family so Fifi can look through it whenever she likes.

Sigh.

On the bright side, congratulations on your Precious Princess' award for best of the best! Super! And how good of you to cook for FIFTY people? Wow. My grandparents always used to do that for all of us and it was the high point of my year, going to their house for Christmas and Easter. I'm sure your family feels the same way.

Love to you Amanda!
And lots of hugs.
and a very Happy New Year.

Enjoy your vacation.

Oh Amanda,

I'm so sorry for your loss.
My family was very sad this past year when we lost our beloved cat Skylar. My youngest daughter painted a sign and placed it as a marker to dedicate a small pond we had built to him. He liked 'fishing' in it. It was hard at first just seeing the sign, but now it is Skylar's Pond. It doesn't hurt and it is pleasant to remember him poking at the water. Paris Fifi was a very lucky pet! I'll bet there are lots of Paris Fifi places!

mo
