Here's the cheese & bacon quiche baking on the top rack, and a coconut custard pie baking on the bottom rack...
My family love this coconut custard pie topped with ice-cream!
The quiche is also a family favourite, and I love it because it not only tastes delicious, but it's quick and simple to make (just what this tired old mum needed after a long weekend! lol)
Then I set our little kitchen table in the breakfast nook area, since there was only the 4 of us I thought it would be cosier than setting the big table....
Then we all sat down to enjoy a summer brunch of quiche, fresh garden salad and garlic potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. Of course we had to have a toast to Princess too! Does it make it any less special if it was soft drink (soda or pop I think you call it) in our glasses and not champagne? I don't think so! lol
Even though all the dancing has finished for the year now, things are still crazy as this is the last week of school for the year for Princess. This is exam week and as you can imagine, very stressful! It will be good to be on summer vacation for 2 months after this week (for all Aussie kids). We can't wait!
Next post I want to show you some terrific thrift store finds I got for Christmas decorating. Such fun! Have a wonderful week all!

Your brunch looked yummy! It is so fun reading your blog and hearing about the difference in weather. Here we are all cold and bundled up getting ready for Christmas and you are having summer time and school break and getting ready for Christmas!
That sounds so yummy! Glad the dance season has gone well and settled down, I know how hectic that can be - my Goddaughter is a dancer and my friend spends more time at the studio than home, but it is SO worth it :) Hope you are having a lovely summer. I am SO behind on my visiting!
Hugs,
Dena
I remember those days when my daughter was very young and dancing in recitals. So much fun and so much work! Your brunch looks so delicious! I smiled when I saw the baking dish with blue flowers. I have a pie pan that matches. It is a small world.
Congratulations to your Precious Princess--I'm so happy that things went well....sending good thoughts for exam week!
The brunch looks wonderful--you made her feel very special, I'm sure.
Hugs,
Pam
