Make over madness!

Good Saturday morning ladies! In my last post I mentioned that I would show you a sweet little writing table make over the next time I posted, so here it is....

I have been looking for ages for an old wooden tall lamp, and finally after months of looking I got one for $10, all sad and lonely looking just waiting for a make over! Woo hoo!

On another expedition to the thrift store I found this sweet little writing table for $10. It must be very old because the screws are those old butterfly type ones that you just don't see anymore. It was love at first sight! *sigh*......

Here's a close up to show you the little cubby holes in the writing desk and the old broken handle.

And here are the lamp and the writing desk after their make over. Isn't that little desk just gorgeous?! I love them!

A close up to show you the cubby holes again. All the of Christmas ornaments along the top of the table, and the Reindeer, are all recent thrift store finds. I didn't pay over $2 for any of them.

I went and bought a new crystal handle for the desk draw, and the handle cost as much as the desk did at $10, but oh what a difference it makes! The little Christmas tassel hanging from the handle was thrifted for 50 cents.

I am really having a wonderful time thrifting for and making over all of these lovely pieces, and have so many plans for the coming year, that I am excited to show you as I do them!

Well I must be off. It's a busy day of running Princess to full dress rehearsals for her up coming dance concerts (all 3 concerts!) that are on next weekend. Today's rehearsal goes for 8 hours, and I have to be there to help her with all of her costumes (12 of them!), hair and make up, so it will be a long day! I hope you are all having a lovely day where ever you are, and what ever you may be doing!

Love Amanda xxx

I just caught up on your posts. I love love love what you have done to fix up those wonderful pieces of furniture. I used to have a little desk similar to that when I was a girl...loved the cubby holes for special things.
Good job! You really have an eye for things and a talent to fix them up.
