The comforts of home...

Good evening ladies! I trust you've all had a lovely day where ever you are in your part of the world? It's been raining cats and dogs here in my neck of the woods, something that doesn't happen very often at all, so I took full advantage of this rainy autumn weather today, espeically since it's my favourite....

The rain has been teeming down for 2 days now, so we awoke to dark skies.....

and a flooded yard.....

after a nice warm shower and a hot cup of coffee, I lit some candles and popped my favourite CD on........

and got down to cooking up some good old fashioned comfort food. I did a large tray of apricot chicken......

and another large tray of curry chicken.....

I served the curry chicken tonight for dinner with honey carrots, cheesy mashed potato, and cabbage cooked in olive oil, sea salt and cracked black pepper....my husband and daughter's favourite meal.

Here's my faithful assistant LuLu La Rue in her little bed next to the kitchen bench where she slept all snuggly and warm....

until the smells got too tempting for her, and then she came to sit in front of the oven to stare in through the glass door.......lol Wish I was quick enough to have taken a photo of her sitting there. It was just so CUTE!

I have busy days planned for the next couple of days, but hope to get around to visit with you all soon. In the mean time, I wish you all a truly happy day what ever you may be doing!

Love Amanda & LuLu La Rue xxx

Ms La Rue is as cute as can be...a bit of a Diva maybe? Yummmm, curry chicken what a wonderful idea for dinner tonight. Just what exactly goes into the apricot chicken...sounds divine. It was nice to see you in my email box Amanda.

Oh...I forgot it is fall in your neck of the woods. My oldest just finished another year at college and the other two are almost do here at home.
The 4 of use dug for two hours to try to put in a 125 gallon pond...it was so hot. At least we had a breeze. LOL
I love fall too so enjoy my dear friend and I will check back with you soon. Dianntha

Your dinner looks soooo YUMMY! What is it about the rain that makes one want comfort food? Warm weather is on it's way here and that makes you want to eat lighter and fresher. How weird that the weather plays with the appetite so much, go figure!
