Laundryroom make over...

Hi ladies! I hope you've all had a lovely, relaxing weekend spent enjoying the people and the things that you love. Our weekend was hectic but good fun. Today I would like to share with you the make over photo's of my laundryroom that I painted and decorated over the Easter break. This laundryroom is such a tiny little room, like really tiny, so small that you have to go outside to change your mind. Also it's NOT IN our house, but outside on the side of our house. To get to the laundryroom you have to walk out of the kitchen and through the entertainment area. My dryer is actually out in the entertainment area too, and not in the laundryroom because it made the laundryroom to hot to be in during the summer. Since the room is outside, I leave the door to it open all the time so that our cat can go in there and sleep on the hotwater system, which also shares my laundryroom space. Anyway, enough rambling, let's get on with the unveiling shall we.................

Ta Da! Keep in mind that I wanted this room done on a very tight budget.....

The next 3 photo's are the before photo's.....

all cleaned out and ready for a makeover....

all finished.....

Now I don't mind so much the long trek through the house to do my laundry since I'm so happy with how it turned out! The total cost for this make over was $105. The large white shelf on the wall was found at the thrift store for $15. It was already painted white, really good quality and strong. The only thing it had wrong with it was one out of the 3 hooks were broken. I bought 3 new hooks and replaced them all. Easy. The cover over the washing machine and over the set of IKEA draws that hold garden and pool needs are both toile table cloths that I bought at Spotlight (on sale!). I bought a third toile tablecloth to cut up and made the tiny toile curtains on the end of the lace curtain. The pictures were just printed on paper, and I bought some cheap frames from Big W, stapled pink ribbon to their backs and hung them. I use the black boxes on top of the shelf to hold any little odds and ends that are needed but not pretty to look at. Simple and uncluttered. I wanted this room to be bright and happy, but different to the rest of my house...and not cost a lot of money. So that's it. All I have left to do now in the house is to make over our spare bedroom........and get a new diningroom built on! lol Does it ever end when you own a home? I think not!

For the first time I'm joining in on Susan's Metamorphosis Monday. Click on the title of this post to take you to her GORGEOUS blog, Between Naps On The Porch, and to see what all the fun is about!

Wow~

I really REALLY love it. I just never thought to make my laundry room 'INVITING' ... ! But now I want an inviting laundry room, too!

Brilliant, as per usual my friend.

The ideas I am most likely to steal: Print pictures and put them in cheap frames (I LOVE those bustieres!) AND the set of pretty boxes for unattractive but necessary odds and ends.

Where do you put your fabric softener sheets? In those boxes? Some things I need at my finger tips. And where is your soap? Love your drawers.

Super job, Amanda!
