It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas....

at Jacaranda Cottage....

Hello ladies, I trust you're all well and happily bustling about preparing for Christmas just as I am. Isn't it just such a wonderful time of year?! I love Christmas so much, oh not the present side of things, but the spirit of it all. The magicial feeling one feels inside....the joy!

today I thought I'd share with you some touches of Christmas that have filled our little cottage. This area is in front of the livingroom window. Princess says that this is her favourite vignette in the cottage this year....

and I think it just might be mine too. Makes us feel like it's all cold and snowy outside, and not the unbearable heat that is usually our Christmas season here...

how wonderful it would be to be able to live in a beautiful home like this with snow on the ground and lovely Christmas trees outside our front door.....sigh

here's an overview of part of the livingroom with my darling little LuLu La Rue right in the middle of all the action......as puppies are!

Last year my sweet husband surprised me with this gorgeous little light up house. I had been wanting one for ages and then one day after work he walked in the door with a big cheeky smile on his face and with a flourish, he presented me with this....

I love this sweet little house, snowman and picture.....

moving into the dining room, this display is on top of my grandmother's china cabinet......

for Christmas last year my mum gave me this Santa gift factory. I just love it so much! It too lights up and plays Christmas carols like the house my husband gave me. Love it!

angels and bells and snowy scenes......

and beautiful glass baubles.....

mixed in with cute little pink baubles.....

this display sits over in the kitchen. I recently saw this exact turkey platter at one of my favourite homewares stores retailing for $30. I paid $5 at the thrift store and was lucky enough to find 2 of them just recently!

traditional Christmas cheer.....

just a little area above the dishwasher......

I found this darling little milk jug for $2 at the thrift store during the year...

and the little sugar container to match for $1....ohhhh, I love them both!

and the teapot.... Not a perfect match to the set, but pretty close I thought especially for $2.....

I hope you've enjoyed part one of our little cottage Christmas tour. Next time I'll show you part 2. Until next time....have a wonderful day!

Love Amanda xxx

Amanda,
Your home looks so festive...and you would never believe that it was warm outside...it is 26 degrees today but it was sunny so that helped.
Enjoy this season of giving...Blessings, Dianntha

Oh dear Blogger just swallowed my first comment, so I shall try again.
I adore all your little Christmas houses, they are soo cute, I surely need one oh and those sweet little bottlebrush trees...gorgeous! It does look so lovely in your little Cottage.
I love the lead up to Christmas, I just wish the children would let me have more say about the Tree. Mind you it wouldn't be the same if the kids weren't buzzing with excitement and have decorated the tree with every coloured bauble and handmade (by them, they reject mine)decoration, all on one side of the tree so it has a perpetual lean. Of course you can't move any of the ornaments, they know! STill it just wouldn't be the same without that at our house and the tree looks beautiful!
Have a truly scrumptious day,
Kiss Noises Linda Lilly Cottage

Amanda, I love your pretty Christmas houses and all your lovely decorations. You are farther along than I am in decorating. I did, however get my tree today and put it up. What fun we had decorating. Love all your pretty things. Kathi
