Good Monday morning ladies! Wow what a week last week was! Nothing thrilling or terribly exciting, just one of those really long weeks that has about 23 days instead of 7. You know those ones that you wish would just hurry up and end? By Friday afternoon I felt like a giddy school girl.....again! And yet I still didn't have the time to complete all the tasks I had set for myself. Funny how life tends to get in the way of the best laid plans isn't it?! I had thought that the weekend would prove to be a quiet and relaxing one, but it turned out to be fun and exciting, which is so much better(at times)! Saturday morning I got a phone call from friends saying that they would like to pop over for a visit if it suited us. Naturally we jumped at the chance to visit with friends! Luckily I had scrubbed the house from top to bottom during the week (thank goodness for frustration! At least the house benefited from my frustration even if my head didn't! lol). So I madly started baking up some treats and a lovely laughter filled day was spent enjoying their wonderful company. Then yesterday (Sunday) we decided to go for a drive into the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to a little historic and very pretty scenic town called Montville. We walked up one side and down the other, exploring some truly gorgeous little stores and stopping to warm ourselves by the fireplace, sipping hot chocolate and eating scones with fresh cream & jam at quaint little cafes along the way. While there were many beautiful stores that I really liked, there was one store that I fell madly in love with. It's a store that is set up like Christmas all year round and sells the most gorgeous things (lots of Americana too!). I took just a few photo's to show you as it was so crowded in there, it was hard to get a good shot of anything! They also have accommodation up stairs above the shop where you can rent little apartments that are set up like a Winter wonderland Christmas all year round too! How cool is that?! The owner was telling me that the store is up for sale now, so I really hope that whoever buys it keeps it just the way it is as it is fantastic! My poor One True Love had to go and sit outside after a while as it got too much for him with all the things Precious Princess and I were gathering up to buy! lol Here's the links to both the Christmas store's web site and the Christmas apartment's web site (I hope the links work!) If the links don't work, just try typing them into your browser because you just have to see this place!

These are all the photo's I was able to get because it started to rain so we wandered on home again to get dry and warm, but I'll take some more to show you when we go back very soon. I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend and are looking forward to a wonderful week! I'll be around to visit with you all over the next few days. It takes me that long to pop over to each and every one of you on my sidebar! Until then, have a lovely day.....Love Amanda xxx
A Country Lane (Christmas store)

Oooohhhhhh....in we go!(swoon swoon)

Just some of the gorgeous Americana items...

This was the store behind the Christmas shop. It sold some really beautiful Shabby things.........*sigh*

Sunshine Coast craft store

This store was full of really sweet and pretty things too!

The tiny little local church hall built in 1942...

Isn't it cute?!

I love this building. It's the Montville Village Hall built in 1903. Such a gorgeous place!

I hope you enjoyed your mid Winter tour around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. See you soon!

Hi Amanda! I enjoyed seeing your photos! The Christmas shop reminds me of the Christmas shops we visited in Tennessee after Christmas last year. The hotel where we stayed is decorated for Christmas year round. You would enjoy a visit there, very much.
Your One True Love sounds like J. He usually finds a bench or chair, when we're out shopping etc.
Have a wonderful week!
Pat
Ah yes, the proverbial Hubby on a bench or mine sitting in the car reading a book listening to the radio! Actually, he's not a bad shopper but there are days I push him too hard :-)
Amanda, I've missed you. I'm glad to see you've been having some fun adventures. Those shops look wonderful.
Hi Amanda and thank you for popping in to see my backyard. Oh, I think you'd love having a citrus tree! We love those lemons! I keep popping over to your sight and you hadn't posted anything - you've been a busy girl, huh? Well, it looks like you had a wonderful time on your little drive. I just love Christmas all the time stores and this one is precious! Did you buy anything for yourself? It's still Sunday here so I hope you have a wonderful week!
