Quick change!

Hi all! I thought I'd show you a quick and simple change I made to the entry area of our home. Unfortunately we don't have an entry hall in this house, and I would LOVE one again, but we make the best of what we do have, right? It's one of the areas of my home that I see so many times a day that I don't really even see it anymore, if you know what I mean. Anyway, one day I was sitting here looking around for a quick and easy project and had the idea of doing a little change to the front door.

A trip to the hardware store for the heart plaque, some hooks, and the l-o-v-e letters, and I was good to go. Ignore the frame, that's part of another project that I'm working on!

A little rummage around in the draws for some scrapbooking paper.....

Out with the tin of white paint and my trusty little pink handled hammer (found this pink hammer in the toy section years ago. Can you believe! Pretty deadly toy because it is a proper solid metal hammer, but good for me and my little projects!).

First I painted the letters white, then covered them with the scrapbook paper....

Painted the heart white, added some of the scrapbook paper in the centre of the heart, then painted 2 tiny little open hearts and glued them on top. Added a tassle and some ribbon......and the pink A from my office table.......

added some hooks to hang my keys on......

Here's the before, nothing special, just a place to hang my keys and handbag as I come home. I used to love the blue and yellow combination, but like I've said before, my tastes are changing, and now ever so slowly so is Jacaranda Cottage.

After......still just a very simple uncluttered look, but a little softer and more interesting I think/hope. I was thinking about adding a shelf to the area, but my very tall husband says I have booby trapped the house enough already! He's always bumping into my surprise additions. lol

So there you go, a quick and easy make over that's still usable, uncluttered, and hardly cost a thing to do!

Oh yes, I just had to show you this cute little handbag I bought the other day for $3.....at where else but the thrift store. I came home and gave it a handwash in lavender scented laundry detergent & softener and now it's as good as new and smells delicious! Isn't it just adorable!

Wishing you a wonderful day all and hoping your week has been a happy one so far............love Amanda xxx
