is the common name for this lovely little sad looking plant growing outside my front window. How it got this name I don't know, but I thought it was sort of appropriate for this post.
Last night I got a phone call from a dear friend of mine to tell me that another friend of ours is in the hospital. Our friend was rushed to the hospital with abdominal pains, and after many exams by the Doctors, they found that our friend has cancer.........again. Last year our friend celebrated 10 years of being cancer free, and now they have found it again in other areas of her body, 2 spots on her lungs and one in her pancreas. They are inoperable as they are too big and too close to major arteries, so they are aggressively starting radiation and chemo. My heart is aching for this dear sweet lady and her lovely family (girl 12yrs, boy 15yrs). This lady is just the kindest soul, always ready with a smile and quick with a laugh. She's fun, she's funny, she's a real live wire and I like her a lot! I know that there are some truly awesome prayer warriors out there among you wonderful ladies, so I ask you to please pray for my friend and her family as they walk this journey together. Thank you so much........Amanda.

The "c" word ... ugh....I will keep your friend and her young family in my heart and prayers. How terrifically sad and unfair to have gone 10 years and then have this happen. I hope her spirits will rebound....as prayer and a good attitude are the best medicine.
((hugs)) Rosie
Oh, Amanda. I am so sorry.
I know we aren't supposed to hate, but I hate cancer. It is a journey unlike so many others, and one I pray that will one day be conquered.

c-answer ... there's an answer, I'm just sure of it ... and I will pray for your friend. She is already a warrior and a winner! She's already beat it once. I know people who have beat it more times than that. She can do it!
I have just prayed for your friend and will include her on my prayer list. How wonderful to think that prayers are not limited by distance! I have two friends (one a dad with a very young family) who are also fighting cancer at the moment. Love, Eleanor at Thatchwick
