Thifty finds...

Good morning! How's your week going so far ladies? Mine has been good, busy and tiring, but good. Today I am enjoying a lovely slow day at home, doing laundry and baking. The weather is drizzly and cool, which is my favourite kind. So I'm a very happy camper today to be home pottering and nesting in our little Jacaranda Cottage. In my last post I promised to show you what I found at the thrift store recently....

I thought this little tea pot of a pub was just lovely, like something you would see in a beautiful English country town......I paid $3 for it!

This little sugar bowl isn't the matching one for the tea pot, but I thought it was a pretty good match and I loved it...especially for $2!

This little creamer IS the match for the tea pot. It was a shame that they didn't have the full set, but I think it worked out ok with the sugar bowl. What do you think? Not bad for $2 hey.

I've changed out the little tiered stand to showcase the new tea set. I'm loving how this looks, so cute! Makes me want to take a trip to England to visit the countryside. Maybe we should do that one year, good opportunity to look up some rellies too!

Isn't this turkey platter just awesome! I love it! I found this one for $5 in one shop, then in another shop I found the exact same one for $4. Naturally I bought both. They'll be perfect for Christmas, since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here...

Then I found this beautiful little silver tray. It's not real silver, but I loved the shape of it, especially the edging, so for $1.......

I've got it sitting on the sofa table under a crystal serving bowl filled with stones and a candle. I really love the earthy-ness of this mix, silver, crystal, rocks and fire. Am I odd? On second thoughts, don't answer that. Those who know me well already know that I am! lol

And lastly, I couldn't pass up this birdhouse tissue box for 50 cents. Perfect, especially since winter is knocking on our door!

So that concludes this week's thrifty treasures tour. Hopefully I'll find some really awesome things next time I go too!

Wishing you a wonderful end to the week my dear bloggy friends. I'm off to bake a couple of cakes now and put another load on. See you soon!

Love Amanda xxx

Everything looks right at home in your cottage already. You found some really cute things. It makes me smile every time you speak of winter being on the way, because summer is on it's way in here. It's so much fun to speak with people who live in different parts of the world and to hear about how they live!

What great treasures! I'd say you've had a fun time thrifting lately!

I've seen those big white platters and have thought of picking one up for Thanksgiving/Christmas too. You can't beat it for $4-$5!

Have a great day!

Oh boy, the thrift stores in your neck of the world are wonderful! You find the most amazing things. Your home is such a treasure trove of beauties, so warm and welcoming. I'll be right over for a cuppa, I'll bring my magazine stash (and maybe some cinammon rolls dripping in frosting) and we can sit and sip and spend the day flipping through pages....all the while being surrounded by all the comforts of your lovely home....
