A day in the life of my family......

Hi Ladies! I hope you're all having a lovely relaxing weekend? Ours has been a bit of both, busy and relaxing. On Saturday John had to work all day, while Princess and I took our baby girls to the Vet (LuLu had to have her stitches removed, and all went well. Mia had to have her 3rd and last lot of vaccinations), and then we went over to mum's to help her re-arrange some furniture. So today it was nice just to stay at home and relax by pottering around our little Jacaranda Cottage getting some much needed chores done.

Today we got stuck into the yard and tidied things up a little.......

John fired up his whipper snipper and mower, and started trimming everything back to a crisp neat edge.......while I followed behind with the broom.......and the camera.

it was lovely out in the yard, looking at all the plants blooming for Spring like this beautiful red Bottle Brush tree.......actually I am surprised that it has survived because our cat loves to use it's supple young trunk to sharpen her claws!

and to see the palms thriving, turning such a gorgeous and lush shade of green....

LuLu and Mia really enjoy being outside too, wrestling and playing in the soft grass....

exploring together around the pool (they are small enough to walk through the pool fence posts too!)........

and chasing the hose!

If you're thinking that Mia BonBon looks a little different, you'd be right. Mia had her monthly trip to the puppy spa last Friday and this time I got them to shave her right back so that she'll be more comfortable for summer. The weather is already warming up to be quite hot and she's been struggling to get cool at times. Now she should feel a lot happier..........

then the pool needed a cleaning after the dust storm the other day. Now it's sparkling clean and ready to see some action!

the cars also needed a good cleaning after that dust storm, so Princess was in charge of washing both her daddy's car and my truck. She did such a good job too, as usual.......thank you my angel...xxx.

so after a long day of working all together out in the spring sunshine, it was nice to come in and get a nice cool shower, and prepare something simple but delicious for our dinner........

my family love Barefoot Contessa's version of Mac and Cheese which is the recipe that I always use. Oh boy is it g-o-o-d! Add a light garden salad and some garlic bread......a perfect summer Sunday dinner.

oh and here are my new plates! I fell in love with this dinner set when I saw it last week and I'm so glad that I did decide to buy them. I'm sure my dinner tasted even better because it was eaten off of this lovely plate! lol

Thank you for taking the time to spend a day in the life of our family. You're welcome anytime!

Wishing you all a very happy start to the week.......love Amanda xxx

Hi Amanda,
Looks like your weekend was certainly a busy one!
The wind is still blowing a right gale so I haven't done a thing outside....I am envious at your tidy garden & clean cars!
Had to giggle about you following your hubby with the broom & the camera, Adam thinks my camera is embedded in to my hand!!!
I am loving those plates, glad you bought them. I missed the end of an ebay auction for plates similar to those & am still kicking myself over it!

P.S: Your pooches are so cute too!

Amanda, What a fun and relaxing weekend together. Your dogs are so sweet. Wow, that hair cut must feel great especially with summer coming. I love your pretty plates and the food looks wonderful. Your dust storm is incredible. I can't imagine. Although, we do have forest fires near us and some field burning, so I can relate with the dust particles. Have a lovely day. Hugs, Kathi

Hi Amanda :)

I just finished catching up with you and all the news! Congratulations on your newest addition Mia! What a cutie she is :)

That mac & cheese looks wonderful. I think I'll have to try it too.

Your yard looks lovely and what a sweet daughter you have to wash the cars! How do you get her to do that?? ;)

Thank you for the very sweet answer to my question. It's friends like you that make it all worth while.

(((hugs)))

Looks like everything is so lovely and green. Today we are having wind gust and our poor leaves are blowing off the trees without a care. I do love fall...today it is 61 and a little chilly.
Do take care. Dianntha
