Whew, it's over!

Thank goodness today is o-v-e-r! Precious Princess got her braces on this morning, and even though it went really well and the Orthodontist and his staff were wonderful, she is in quite a bit of pain, which they assure me is normal. My poor little baby, even though she'll be 14 next month, she's still my baby. I don't know who was more nervous, her or me. I think it was me actually since I was up at 3am with a stress tummy ache! lol Sympathy pains! We stopped off at McDonalds for breakfast (a special Princess request). The first photo is the view from inside the restaurant. The 2nd photo of a painting in the Orthodontists waiting room. The 3rd photo is of the treatment room where Princess got the braces on. The next photo is of some Christmas trees at the shops, we had to call into the fabric store yet again for a last minute forgotten dance costume piece. The last photo is of Paris Fifi going to sleep under the new cushions. She likes to tuck in under things with just her nose peeping out lol. I think I bored her to sleep with my 5 random things about me! Susan from Black Eyed Susan's Kitchen http://sueskitchen.typepad.com/black_eyed_susans_kitchen/ tagged me to post 5 random things, so here goes.........(I'm truly not exciting at all, you've been warned! lol)

5 Random things about me:

1) I LOVE chocolate and all sweet things except for lollies (candy). I hate lollies!

2) I didn't learn to drive until I was 24yrs old (almost 12yrs ago) and our daughter was 2yrs old at the time, because I wasn't confident enough to think I could do it. Then one day I just decided to give it a go and I got my license on the first go!

3) I value loyalty, honesty and humor in relationships.

4) I always wanted to have 10 children, and ended up having an only child.

5) I have no athletic ability what so ever!

Now I'd like to tag Julie from Nunnie's Attic http://nunniesattic.blogspot.com/ to tell 5 random things about herself too! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good Morning Amanda,
Well, I'm glad the brace thingy is over with for you both. I'm sorry you have a stomach ache, but maybe it will pass. I love the pictures you shared with us. They are beautiful. The McDonald's there looks alot better than the ones here close to us in neighboring towns. I love the painting in the dentist's office. It is just beautiful. The Christmas Trees are gorgeous too. Yall sure do have alot of beautiful things over there. I hope the pain goes away on your Princess' teeth. I never had to have braces. I pray my kids won't have to ever have them either. They have different colored braces here in the States. Girl, I love, love, love, Chocolate too. Who doesn't right? LOL. Hey, there's nothing wrong in you getting your Driver's License at 24. You did the right thing by waiting until you were confident enough. It is a cold morning here. It is 28 degrees with a windchill of 22 degrees as I'm typing this. It's only going to be 45 degrees today. Well, take care my friend and have a great Thursday. I hope you and your Pricess feel better soon. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Good Morning Sunshine!
I had braces on when I was about her age. The first days, they hurt. Bad. But then it's nothing. Tell her to eat mashed potatoes and pudding.

Thanks for naming me and for posting those things about yourself. I love reading random things about people. I did a variation of this today at my place if that's ok. I combined 2 different memes.

Love,
Julie

Ten kids. Holey smokes! My MIL came from a family of 13 kids. I can't imagine. Sadly, we don't have any. My beagle, Bailey is my dog child.
I loved hearing about your 5 things.
Have a good one!

Madam Amanda, you are very interesting!

Isn't it hard when our little ones have to go through things like the braces. We know it's a necessary thing but which we didn't have to make them go through it.

Hope by tomorrow her pain is gone and she'll be able to get on with the fun times of summer and Christmas :-)

So glad things went well with PP and her braces. Almost every one of our grandchildren have or had them, both of my children did, too. And, yep...it does make their little mouths sore.
I loved reading the 5 things about you...

Hi Amanda,

I feel for Princess, I have a true fear and loathing of all dentists, (truly)! Glad it's behind her now. I'm with you on the sports...I was always the last one picked!

Hugs,
Dena

Just wanted to pop back in tonight and say that I hope PP's mouth isn't too sore but I'm afraid it is. Braces are no fun but she sure will have beautiful teeth when it's all over. My girl wore them, too and she does have LOVELY, white, straight teeth!

Amanda, I loved your five things! I feel for Princess, my princess just had hers taken off..she wore them from the time that she was 10 till she was 17, but boy does she have one gorgeous smile. Some suggestions, other than aspirin or tylenol, jello and pudding helped, as did yogurt and soup. Just remind her of how beautiful her teeth will be when she is done. Those Christmas trees were great. I love that you take your camera out with you...I have got to start doing that. Have a wonderful day. Susan

Hi Amanda...my Kailei has braces too...she's had them for about 5 months so far....stock up on soft stuff like mashed potatoe, pudding, yogurt, ice cream etc,,,each time she goes in to get them adjusted she will be sore afterwards (and moody!)My son is getting his on next year!
Blessings,
Robin

Those braces are uncomfortable when they first get on and also when you go to get them readjusted(tightened). But otherwise that discomfort all goes away and its worth it in the end. My daughter got her's off last year.

I love sweets too and I was a late driver too. Which may explain the many driving issues I have LOL!
