Summer's last blooms...

Every night when One True Love gets home from work, Paris Fifi is waiting impatiently at the front gate for him to throw her ball for her. He'll stand outside for about an hour, giving her a good run as she madly dashes around the yard chasing her beloved tennis ball. Precious Princess and I always go out there, taking long cool drinks with us, and sit in the garden, chatting with him about our day, while he patiently throws the ball time after time after time.......so today I asked Precious Princess to get some photo's of the last of the Summer blooms in our yard. We're smack dab right in the middle of Summer now. It's hot, it's humid. You can actually smell the heat beating off everything. You can see the heat too, it makes everything look a little wavy, a little hazy. Have you seen heat shimmering in the air? It's fascinating, and even though I really don't like the heat, the burning feeling on my skin and the glistening of sweat on my body that is a constant of everyday, I do love the SMELL of Summer. Summer. Not long now old girl and you'll be heading north to holiday in the sun with my friends in the USA... Come on Winter! Down Under is a waitin' with hands on hips......and a foot tappin'!

Amanda is is a treat to come by and imagine the heat beating down on me and my garden. I love to come by and see the opposite of what climate we experience by viewing your photos. Today all our white snow has disappeared because of a January rain...but I am sure we shall get more of the white fluff.
When you need a dose of winter white just come by my place and scroll down.
g'day hugs NG xo

Your summer blooms are beautiful, Amanda:)

Mother Nature has sent us a teaser the last couple of days. It has been in the high 60's and feels like Spring. It has me wishing I could get out and plant in my garden, but winter is coming back this weekend....so, I'll take that Summer anytime you are ready to get rid of her:)

Beautiful flowers! The pink ones with orange centers hardly look real. Everything is so dreary here that it was quite a treat to see something bright and pretty.

I love your blog and look forward to coming back to visit.
