Ladies Luncheon

Today was a gorgeous Autumn day here. The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was cool with out being cold, just a slight gentle breeze ruffling through the tropical palm trees in my garden, tickling the butterflies and making them sigh....

Today we had my mum and her sisters over for a ladies luncheon. Oh what a wonderful time we had, laughing and reminiscing as we sat down to a morning tea of chocolate mud cake, apple & custard loaf, and a 'beesting' (which is a custard filled cake topped with honey and almonds). I had to hit the bakery nice and early to score these delicious treats!

Then for lunch we had a fresh crisp garden salad...

A bacon and cheese quiche...

A loaf of crusty homemade bread...

and a big dish of piping hot potato bake straight from the oven...

Such a beautiful way to spend the day with these awesome women that I love with all of my heart! Love Amanda xxx

Amanda, You girls sure do know how to party. You just reminded me of a cake that was right out of my childhood. My dad owned a bakery, and that bee sting cake was a favorite. Funny, in all these years, I did not remember it till now. Susan

I loved this line...
