A trip to the Bay!

Today I went for a drive out to the Bay. This is also where my Mum grew up! The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing....and even though it's Winter here now everyone was walking around in Summer clothes! Such a gorgeous and typical tropical Queensland day. They have some excellent thrift stores out by the Bay, and even though it takes me about an hour to drive there, it was well worth it. My next make over project is the master bedroom, so I have been scouting for furniture and the like to make over for the room. Today was no disappointment and certainly worth the trip, if just for the views alone! I'll show you the great bargains I got as we make over our bedroom, but for today I'll leave you with some photo's of the lovely homes that over look the Bay. Enjoy, and have a wonderful day all! Love Amanda xxx

Amanda,
Those houses could easily be in Key West or in the Bahamas. It's so amazing to see similarities in architecture from one country to the next.

These pics made me so homesick for my friends in Australia. sigh. I need to keep saving my pennies so I can come back.

Can't wait to see what you bought for your bedroom makeover.

Hugs!
Christine

I could be soooooo happy living there in one of those beach cottages! Wow! I can't wait to visit Australia. It's on my bucket list. I've wanted to go there for years.

What lovely houses and quite distinctive architecture. Very different from over here. Love the way they are painted. Wish we could just jump in our cars and visit each other - pity we are all continents apart! But blogging is the next best thing. Love Eleanor

Amanda this was a lovely trip - wish I could have been there. The water looks so blue for Winter, and those charming beach houses remind me of many on the North Carolina coast - the multi million dollar ones!!!!!

Glad you are having a mild Winter - good luck with the room makeover project - will look forward to seeing it when done.

How did you know?!? I love sight seeing ... especially other people's houses!!! Happy sigh of contentment.

psssst. I posted a picture of my little light house in the bathroom at my house. I was inspired to share after you posted your lighthouses.

Hugs! Thanks for the wonderful tour. You are always hooking us up with the pictures / tours and I love you for it! Well ... I love you for more reasons than that. You are sweet and funny and thoughtful ... and talented!

So ... as you can see you are stuck with me.

Looking forward to seeing your master bedroom make over! You take it easy on that leg!

More hugs,

Wendy aka Wendster Wenderilla
