Yesterday afternoon Princess and I went shopping, nothing too exciting, just bill paying and grocery shopping. Actually I have to confess, I LOVE grocery shopping! It takes me ages to do it because I have to go up every aisle and look at EVERYTHING. The baking aisle, and the cleaning aisle really throw me into a joyful spin! lol Love it! I know, I need help. Or medication. Therapy perhaps? hehehe The other reason it takes me ages is that I do a monthly shop. Two trollies loaded to the brim, then I only have to top up weekly with fresh fruit & veg, milk & bread. But the exciting thing (well for me, but I clearly have "issues"!) is the bargains I found before hitting the supermarket. I got these gorgeous little glass hanging things (what their original purpose is, I have no idea, but I've hung them from the dining room curtain rod) for 5 cents each. Their original price was $6 each and I got them for 5 cents each! Then I whipped into the fabric store for more supplies to make another cushion (the pink one in these photo's), and I stumbled across/pounced like a Ninja onto their bargain bin where they had all these do-it-yourself books going out for $2 each. I got $85 worth of books for $8! Pretty cool hey? So here's a picture of the finished cushion, the pink one, laying next to the green one I did last weekend. And here is Paris Fifi laying in her bed, wrapped up in an old baby blanket because this is how she is while her Momma has the air/con blasting fridgid air through-out the house PRETENDING that Autumn is just around the corner! Ok, I had better shake my tail feather and get hopping. I now have a month worth of meals to cook, and a month worth of cakes and muffins to bake. It will take me all day and into the night to get it all done, but it's wonderful having a freezer full of delicious homemade things ready made that I only have to add fresh vegetables, a salad, or pasta/rice to it to make the meal complete. Ok, I'm off.....strapping on new cupcake apron right now!

You are a marvel. I dream of shopping like that .... having a stocked pantry and freezer! I need a personal shopper :-) ((hugs)) Rosie
Wow! You cook for a month at a time? Who's better than YOU!!
Love your pillow and your bargains!
Hugs,
Robin
Oh my, you ARE energetic, aren't you! *lol* I am so bad about shopping...even for a couple of days worth of things at a time! When Eric is home he does most of the shopping. He's a marvel! : )
Have fun doing all your cooking and baking and sewing!
Love,
Jan
AMANDA!!! You will have to do a post on how you cook for one whole month's worth of meals in one day! I have seen a video on it, but it looks to hard for me. I would love to have at least five frozen meals in the freezer at all times though!
You got some good bargains!
Hugs, Shar
Hey Amanda, I think those gorgous round damask delights are actually Chrissy ornaments as I am sure I was eyeing them off at a chrissy store late last year. BARGAIN!! They are going to look fantastic all year round. You know I love peeking at your home because I love the way you use colour! I'm not a fan of too much white in one room.

Wow Amanda, I am so impressed with you. How do you do it? Please take pics of how you make all your meals in one day. I can't imagine how nice that must feel when you are all finished and can relax, knowing everything is in the freezer. Good job!! Great bargains too. I love your darling little doggie too.
Hugs, Kathi
I love the colours pink and green when you put them together. They are so vibrant and look fantastic in your photos!
I envy your shopping system. Sometimes I cook a week at a time, but you truly have it sorted!!
such a pretty blog :)
I love grocery stores, when I am on vacation I go into stores that we don't have in our town and load up on stuff I can never find in my hometown. You got some great bargains, esp on those books.
:) Bren
Good morning Amanda! I left you a little something on my blog!
Hugs, Sharon
Woo hoo that's some power shopping and then some power cooking sister. That must take an awful lot of planning before you hit the store. Sure would take the guess work out of "whats for dinner tonight".
Have a great productive weekend and love love the pics of Paris Fifi
Hugs - Karen
I love the play by play shopping, feel like I got the bargains with you--it's the same great feeling, right? Hee-hee!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I have to admit, I do the same as you - up and down every aisle. I would hate to miss something! No wonder the family hates to shop with me :)
wow--I don't think I'd enjoy cooking for a month because I enjoy cooking each day. But I do cook some things ahead to save on time. I am one of those weird ones that likes doing dishes by hand in front of the kitchen window.--I do not get excited about grocery shopping so I guess we break even ;-)
How cool is that? You can't buy anything for a nickel and 2.00 books...a magazine will cost you more! Amanda, you really made out. Very well done. Susan
Could you make a few extra goodies for me? What a marathon!
Hugs,
Nan
Wow woman....you got some awesome deals here ha! I thought I did good with my bargains this weekend...but geez you did GOOD!
Hugs,
Rose
I, too, cook and freeze and it is such a treat to slip something good out of the freezer, whip up a tossed salad or some yummy mashed potatoes and have our meal. We usually take a day and do pies, casseroles and roast for the freezer and then.....go out to eat that night !!! :)
hugs, bj
what a great idea! I don't think I could plan that far in advance. You need to do some posts on this for us. I know we'd love it!
Great bargains. I especially love those glass things. beautiful bling for your room!
Cheers! LA
I didn't know you did once a month cooking! That's fabulous - all those meals in the freezer! I love Paris Fifi! I wish I could cuddle her - she's so adorable all wrapped up in that blankie. Good deals on those books!

Yes, I know it is February 25th. Sorry, I am catching up on your blog. I have been all out of whack the last week, not much time on the computer! I loooove your pillow covers, they are darling! The colors are so pretty. And the bargain on those books! WOW! Makes you enjoy the stuff you get twice as much with those amazing prices! Five cents for those pretties? Yep, gotta scoop those up, and boy they sure are cute where you hung them, they look great there!
