You're rubbing off on me!

Firstly just let me say a big "THANK YOU!" to everyone who left me some birthday well wishes, I really appreciate it alot! Aawwww you guys are just the BEST! Ok, now I would like to show you something. You know how I got those pink appliances for my birthday (see last post if you don't know what I'm talking about), well I wanted something pink (yes, it's my latest obsession...PINK!) to sit under the coffee and sugar containers. So a hunting around the house we went! There's nothing like shopping in your old junk is there? Sort of like a free thrift store! lol Anyway, I found this old tray from high school. In art class we had to buy a plain pine tray to paint and decoupage. I was crazy about animals during this time and wanted to be a VET........or work for Greenpeace........ HA! So anyway, here is my crude attempt at decoupage when I was 15yrs old. Fast forward 21 years and it's just had a little make over! lol It's not really all that great, but it'll do the trick for now at least. Now I just have to buy some nice containers for the coffee and sugar that the ants can't find a way into. ICK! So thanks ladies for inspiring me to think out side of the box and make the most of what I have, to give it a new lease on life. You're definitely rubbing off on me! Amanda xxx

I think you did a great job re-using your tray. I love your pink mixer - I almost got pink, but chickened out and went with pistaschio green.

Pretty tray makeover Amanda!

My oldest daughter started out high school with the idea she wanted to be a Vet. That was during the late 1970's, early 80's. Girls in Vet school was a rarity! Anyway...she didn't go to Vet school after all, but I remember how passionate she was about the idea when she was 14 or 15 years old.

Good Morning Amanda,
What a beautiful tray you have. You did a great job on it in High School and in re-doing it now. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. Some of you ladies are so creative and crafty. I sure wish I had that talent. It is always nice when you can find something around the house to re-do. Saves alot of money that way. I have finally put up a new post. Hopefully things will get back to normal around here since my DH left for work this morning. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
