Sweet treats!

Have I mentioned that I am an organizational freak? I like, no, I love to be organized! I also have a sweet tooth and love baking (then eating!) cakes. Our current favourites are orange pound cake, lemon pound cake, and coconut cake. I bake very often and like to have things ready so that I can just get stuck into the fun parts quicker. So yesterday I juiced & zested my little heart out. This is enough to make 12 cakes. Now they're all tucked away in the freezer waiting for my sweet tooth to strike again (which won't be long!) After all the zesting & juicing, I thought I deserved to sit down with a piece of Peanut Blondie (that I also made that day) & a cuppa while I cruised my favourite blogs............aaahhhhhh.......contentment. What makes you feel content?

what a tremendous idea. I am not so organized. I wish. But I do love baking like you.

I do that too, bag and freeze ingrediants so they are ready to go. It really helps out, to do a bunch in advance.

What makes me feel content...similarly, cooking, crafting, my kids and husband, and, like you, sitting back and reading my favorite blogs. I have just added you to my list, so I will remember to come back and see you again. Susan

Your love of organization inspires me! I'll have to remember this tip for lemons/oranges.

I agree with Penny from Lavender Hill Studio about not knowing you can freeze lemon and orange zest.
I love to bake and this is going to be a real time-saver for me.
Thanks for the great idea.
I made 7 dozen decorated cookies for my trick or treaters, check it out if you have a chance.

Happy Halloween!

Great Idea. I love pound cakes, so easy to make and so yummy to eat.

Chocolate chip cookies make me content. I froze a couple of half batches of cookie dough today so that I can bake up half a dozen choc chip cookies any time I want.

Oh, now that is organized! I wish I could be like that. I'm usually flying around trying to get so many things done. You are very smart to do that.

Wow! I am so impressed with you! What a great idea to do it all at once and freeze it for later. I love to work hard and have everything clean and then sit with a treat and blog, it's so fun!
