Now that I'm full swing into Christmas mode, my taste buds are screaming out for comfort foods. Now, you don't have to twist my arm too hard at the best of times, but when the nesting mood strikes and I need comfort food, well then the diet is totally non existent! Precious Princess loves chocolate cake, and One True Love has been asking for creamed rice, so today I made both for them......ok, I confess, for me too, but hey, it sounds nicer if I say it's all done for them! Right? Naturally when you become obsessed with blogging and taking photo's for blogging, you have the camera glued to your body, even at your own peril.........like dealing with hot things splashing at you in the kitchen! So here's what I got up to for part of the day. The rest of the day was spent doing those oh-so-exciting things like washing, ironing, cleaning.....yadda, yadda, yadda...but sitting down with a nice cup of coffee in my new favourite snowman mug and a slice of moist fluffy chocolate cake, well it kind of made it all worth while! Right? lol

Good Morning Amanda,
Okay, you have made me hungry here. LOL. You got any leftovers? LOL. That creamed rice looks delicious. Can you post the recipe. I've never had creamed rice. I've fixed rice and melted butter and put sugar and just a bit of milk in it. The chocolate cakes makes my mouth water. LOL. Diet???? What is that? LOL. During the Holiday, I go on one of those See-Food Diets. LOL. I'm not the baker kind of person, so if I get any sweets, I get my Mother to make them for me. She usually makes me fudge and bon bons at Christmas. I love those bon bons. I finally got a new post up. I am out visiting now. It is another rainy morning outside here. I do hope it moves out later on today. Well, take care my friend and have a great Monday. May God Bless You and Yours.
Hugs,
Karen H.
I think I'm gaining weight just looking at the picture of that cake!!
Too funny! We are thinking alike. My post today is about comfort foods as well.
Your cake looks amazing! I have never had creamed rice, is it sweet?
I say, after all that hard work, you deserve something yummy and besides, all diets have gone on holiday until January:)
OMGosh...that is the most delicious looking chocolate cake I've ever seen! PLEASE post a recipe, OK? And, creamed rice...never have I heard of it. Like Karen, rice with butter and sugar is one of my favorites and we do a Rice Pudding here. Is that like creamed rice? With the cinnamon, sugar, butter???
I love all your Christmas things you are showing us....keep up the wonderful work, my friend.
hugs, bj

Good morning...what a treat to see a photo of my favorite cake!! The rice looks so good! I've not had creamed rice.
When I was growing up, rice was considered a breakfast food, in our home...we had it with raisins, butter, sugar and cream...when I married and moved to the southern US, in 1961, I learned rice is also served for lunch and dinner as a side dish..much like potatoes.
I promised myself, to lose a little wt, before I go back to the doctor Feb 1. With wonderful looking photos, like yours, I am going to have a bit of trouble!;-)
