My coffee table...

Rosie @ http://rosieswhimsy.wordpress.com/ and Cindy @ http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ were both asking "what's on your coffee table?" on their posts today, so I thought I'd share mine too. My coffee table is a beautiful old hand carved camphor wood chest that I've had since I was 15 years old. Inside it holds all my special linens, embroidered pillow cases, table cloths, things my Nana crocheted long ago.......special things and heart strings. I like to change the top of the table quite often. At the moment there's a small embroidered table cloth that my cousin Maxine gave to me for my 21st birthday. A beautiful crystal pedestal bowl with rocks collected from our local beach and a vanilla scented candle. There's a little white petal shaped dish with a Frangipani flower shaped candle. A crystal lidded bowl that was given to me on my 13th birthday by my mum. A vase with, dare I say it, faux purple tulips (Tulips are my favourite flower. Remind me to tell you a romantic story involving tulips & my One True Love one day....) The vase I got on a clearance table at Target years ago. The little purple floral tray was found in the dollar store, and brought home because I fell in love with it, and the little candle holders on the tray were sent to me from a good friend in Canada.

So tell me, what's on your coffee table?

Oh, this is so beautiful....I MUST do something about my vintage coffee table not being "dressed" nicely. Some of these things, I guess, I just don't think about. Now, tho, after seeing all the pretty ones people have posted, I am off to find some pretty things for MY coffee table. Maybe then, we can keep our feet off of it!!:)
happy day,bj

That is so beautiful! I think we should make this a regular thing...everytime we change what's on our coffee table we should show pictures of it on our blog!

How lovely, Amanda! I have 2 stacks of decorating magazines flanking the bible on a stand that a friend of my mom and dad made for them. Since I display the bible in my living room and theirs was on display in their family room which isn't used all that often, she gave it to me. On the stacks of magazines I have jar candles and a big bowl of chocolate!

Love,
Julie

Good Afternoon Cottage Contessa,
I am coming by way of Tammy from My Gentle Retreat. I want to congratulate you on your Community Blogger Award from her. Tammy is such a sweetie. I enjoy reading her blog everyday. I have my own blog called Karen's Korner. I hope you will stop by sometime and visit. I enjoy meeting new friends and all. I am fairly new to the blogging world. I started in September but only got going good last month. I have lots to learn. I don't have a coffee table, but I do have an old cedar chest of my hubby's that I am thinking about using as one. I still have to bring it over to the place where we live at now tho. Well, I am out visiting the new ones on Tammy's list this morning. Take care my friend and have a great Wednesday and God Bless you.

Hugs,
Karen H.
